Hykon Inaugurates Its New Corporate Office and State-of-the-Art EV and Lithium Battery Factory in Kochi

KOCHI, KERALA – Hykon, a multifaceted conglomerate and a pioneering presence in the power electronics field, has inaugurated its new corporate office and state-of-the-art Electric Vehicle (EV) and Lithium Battery factory in Kochi on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at 2:30 PM. The event took place at the KINFRA International Convention Centre in Kakkanad, Kochi.

The new facility was officially inaugurated by Shri P. Rajeev, the Honourable Minister of Industries, Law, and Coir, Government of Kerala.

Hykon's dream of establishing a modern manufacturing facility has become a reality on a 5-acre property at the KINFRA Electronic Manufacturing Cluster in Kakkanad, Kochi. The first phase includes a Corporate Office and a Manufacturing Unit for Electric 3-Wheelers and Lithium Batteries, housed in a 52,000 sq. ft. space. This facility is designed to operate entirely on green energy, powered by a 250 KW solar plant and a 500-kilowatt-hour Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), ensuring 24/7 sustainable and eco-friendly operations—a first of its kind in Kerala.

The inaugural event was attended by several key dignitaries. The program included a welcome address by Shri. George Christo, Executive Director, Hykon India Ltd., and a keynote address by Shri. Christo George, Chairman & Managing Director, Hykon India Ltd.

Shri. P. Rajeev, Honourable Minister of Industries, Law, and Coir, Government of Kerala, inaugurated the factory and delivered the inaugural address. Special addresses were given by Smt. Radhamani Pillai, Municipal Chairperson of Thrikkakara Municipality, and Shri. Santhosh Koshy Thomas, Managing Director of KINFRA.

Felicitations was offered by Shri. VKC Razak, Chairman of the CII Kerala State Council, and Director of VKC Group and Shri. M.O. Varghese, Councillor - Thrikkakara Municipality. The vote of thanks was delivered by Shri. R. Harikumar, Chief Operating Officer, Hykon India Ltd.

Founded in 1991 as a Small-Scale Industry (SSI) by Mr. Christo George, Hykon began with a team of just five employees. His college project on inverters became the foundation of the company, which was among the first in India to introduce inverters to the market under a brand name. Today, Hykon has expanded to a strong team of over 450 professionals, with three manufacturing units and more than 10 lakh satisfied customers. The company's product portfolio includes UPS, Inverters, Solar Hybrid Inverters, Solar Water Heaters, Lithium Batteries, Electronic Generators, BESS and Electric 3-Wheelers. Hykon also has a DSIR-recognized R&D Centre and collaborations with institutions like C-DAC and IIT Delhi. The company has been honoured with several awards, including the "National Award for Quality Products" presented by the President of India.
